So a couple months ago on the way to the race in Prunedale, Mikey Day came to pick me up as we had to go early for a couple bike shop visits. When he got to my house William and I went out to greet him and I leaned down and told William to say "Hey Mike"...which of course he said nothing because he is shy around new people. Of Course when Mike and I left, Carrie told me that William was going around the house and kept saying "Hey Mike" for the rest of the day. Anyway today I got the new BMX Plus mag and William got up from his nap and saw it by my chair. He loves to flip through the mags and when he was a few pages in he pointed to a picture of Mikey and he says ''Hey Mike". I didn't realize 2 year olds have such good memory. So, to William, Mikey's name will always be Hey Mike. I also just want to add a big congrats to Mikey, Jill and Donny for their performances at the Olympics. It was super exciting to see BMX in the Games for the first time, and although I thought NBC ripped us off a bit on coverage, I thought it looked really good and it was great to see the USA grab that many medals.
I am off to the NBL Grands tomorrow after about a month off. Louisville has always been one of my favorite tracks so I am looking forward to racing the track as well as going for the title. Chrisitan has a little point lead going in and he is always on his game so I hope it is a good battle and a good show for everyone. RS
