Should have new addition tomorrow........

Posted at 10:30:00 PM

Just got back from Lancaster for the ABA Nationals down there.  Had all kinds of weather from crazy windy to rain to beautiful and sunny on Sunday.  Got a 2nd in Saturday’s main(we all voted for one main as it was starting to rain) as the track was in between being pretty slick but not yet too muddy.  I almost caught Danny C at the line but needed a bit more room.  Sunday I survived the motos even though the computer didn’t like me much giving me lanes 8-8-7 in motos and then another snowman for the semi……but still made it in and got 4th for the day.  Congrats to David Herman for taking the win and I am sure it is going to be an exciting title chase come grands time.

So on the way home from Lancaster I decided to stop in Mojave at Jack in the Box as I was pretty hungry.  I got out of my truck and started to walk towards the door and realized my keys were not in my pockets.  They were in my truck……all locked up.  I couldn’t believe it.  I have never done that before and now I am in Mojave on a Sunday afternoon.  So I ride my bike to the fire station and knocked…..nobody opens the door.  There are cars outside but noone opens the door.  I then see a couple biker dudes who are taking their bikes out of a trailer that looks like they might have some handy dandy tools in there that are good for breaking into a car…..they just gave me blank stares.  I checked with the gas station clerk who said I probably could get a slim jim at the 99 cent store.  HUH????  I decided not to even pursue that suggestion and went to the hardware store where they were conveniently all out of slim jims…but they had a contact of a locksmith lady who I then called.  She was twenty miles away and sounded like it was the last thing on earth she’d like to do at that moment, but thankfully she came anyway….she made it clear it would be 60 bucks and she needed to be paid on the spot.  She came and unlocked my door no problem and I felt bad for having her come all that way so I gave her 80 bucks and she was very thankful for that and gave me a hug and went on her way.

Well looks like we’ll be having a new addition to the family tomorrow.  Carrie went to the doctor today and I guess he told her go to the hospital at 5 am tomorrow and you’ll have the baby.  The due date was Oct 25 so this was a bit of a surprise, but we are both excited.  Puts a little pressure on though since we weren’t set on names, and we don’t know if it is a boy or girl.  So I guess sleep is over for a little while again as well.  So tomorrow is a big day and I don’t feel one bit ready…..I don’t think you ever do with kids though, you just jump in and go for it.  I’ll keep you posted on what we bring into the world……..RS

Great job on Saturday Randy, the weather was definitely hard to deal with and we're glad the pros got to run their race before the track became a mess.
