Back from Bakersfield and let me just say it was a good weekend for the Fresno crew. Rob got his first podium at an ABA national in 36-40 expert with a second on Saturday and a 3rd on Sunday. Awesome job.
Austin was doing awesome, had some bad luck. Was battling for the win in 15 expert on Sunday when he slid out in the first corner.
I got a 3rd and 2nd in AA Pro, felt good to be back on the podium. If I can find some way to secretly put my engine from my dodge truck on my bike, I might be able to beat Maris down the first straight. Also it might help if my own son would root for me. Apparently on Saturday during the mains he kept rooting for Mike Day, and he was really concerned when in the third main Mike crashed and wanted to know if he needed a bandaid.
Props also to Insane Brooke Craine for taking a couple seconds in Ladies Pro, she was flying and had a chance for the win both days.
Now let me just say......Tony was impressive in A Pro. He made the main both days in the super tough A Pro class which had almost 40 riders, and he got third on Saturday and maybe 6th on Sunday with a couple crashes in the mains. Tony has been working super hard in his training and it showed. To come out and make it on the podium after not racing for five years or better is impressive. Congratulations Tony.
Pics below....Me trying on Tony's glasses to see if I looked as good as him. I didn't. Second pic is Tony on the podium.
