It was a good weekend for me at Southpark, BMX as I won Elite Men both days. I've been going to that track since 1994 and I always love being there. It definitely has a good feel to it. The track was pretty good except on the last straight it looked like they played a game of how many rollers can we fit before the finish line and how peaky can we make them? But it worked out alright, the pro jump didn't feel as short as last year so we could get a little backside.
Sunday morning on the second gate dropped during warmup the cylinder malfunctioned and flipped 8 riders over the gate. They changed the cylinder to one that worked, but for some reason it dropped the gate slower. So we were all hitting the gate.....then miraculously it changed back to normal somewhere during the races as I was late 2nd and 3rd motos. So I decided to charge normally during the main and my timing worked out. Great job by the NBL staff and all the volunteers for putting on another great weekend at Southpark.

Me and Matt Pohlkamp heading over the pro double. Matt and I have been battling here since 1995 when we were 18-19x.
Me heading over the pro double solo.
My 5'6.5" frame looks a little shrimpy compared to Augusto and Matt.
Cristian had a bad crash on day one in the main over the pro double. He got cut off going off of the lip and had to eject. Luckily he wasn't hurt too bad and took second on day 2.
