Sicky, LRO surf event, etc...Posted at 08:30:00 PM
Last week went great. Therapy went really well and things were moving along until Friday. Friday was a super bad day. I had got those injections and they didn't help at all. In fact I was hurting worse after the injections. A lot worse. So Friday in the middle of therapy I just kinda lost it. I mean I just couldn't do anything. I had to lay down and call it a day, which was hard for me to do. <br>For the next 4 days I was in an incredible amount of pain and I just stayed in bed. I wasn't even able to go to therapy on Tuesday and that made me mad. You know they (meaning the doctors) keep telling you that it's going to get better and this is the worst of it, but then something like this happens and you are in so much pain that you can't get out of bed and you start to not believe those doctors anymore. <br>Anyway, I got through this week and yesterday I started to feel better. I was able to get up and actually get some things done throughout the day. And today I felt decent enough to go to therapy. I wasn't 100%, but I pushed as hard as I could. <br>Even though I wasn't feeling good enough to go I still went to the LRO (Life Rolls On) "They Will Surf Again" event last Saturday. <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmxpZmVyb2xsc29uLm9yZy9zaXRlL3BwLmFzcD9jPWVnTExLVE5KRSZiPTI0MjMxMA==">Life Rolls On Link to They Will Surf Again Event</a> It's a really great event that LRO puts on basically getting a ton of volunteers together to help people with spinal cord injuries get out in the water again and surf. The waves were pretty good and it looked like a lot of fun. I really wanted to get out there and do it, but I was just in too much pain. Next time!<br>So I think I mentioned last time that I got my Jeep. Well, I finally put a couple pictures up. I actually didn't have any. Jeff the guy at the dealership took these and just sent them to me yesterday. <br>In other news therapy (besides this past week) has been going great. I think I'm actually a bit ahead of schedule and what I mean by that is that my trainer/therapist Michelle sort of had a timeline of when she wanted me to get to certain things and I think I am ahead of the curve a bit so I'm really happy with that. My glute muscles are firing as well as my right quad muscle. I just have to keep on it and I will. Rando drove down with me last week to therapy and hung out. It was great having him there and him getting to see what I do three times a week. It was good because we got a chance to catch up. He would tell me how the race season was going and all the changes on the new bikes and I would pretty much tell him about my therapy. We had fun though just like always!<br>This weekend is the US Open of surfing and I think I'm going to head down there since LRO is having an event and also Go211.com is the sponsor of the US Open this year. I think I'll head to the beach tomorrow and check it out. <br>Hmmm....what else. Oh did I mention that I am going to be announcing for the Jeep King of the Mountain events this season!? Yeah, I'm really stoked they asked me if I wanted to do it. Unfortunately I'll have to miss the first one in New Jersey because I've got to fly back to Craig in Colorado and do my 6 month reevaluation, but I'll be at the next two and can't wait to see everyone. <br>Well, I think that's it for now.
