CT Mylogram and IssuesPosted at 05:00:00 PM
I went in on Friday for the CT Mylogram and there was a lot more involved that I thought. I was heavily sedated, which was fine with me. I didn't want to feel the spinal tap they were going to do on me, but when I came out of it was I was in a fog for hours afterward. I also had a lot of pain in my lower back and they gave me dilotted (not the right spelling), which is what they gave me at Craig and it's really strong stuff. Anyway, I came home Friday night and had a splitting headache. They said that's what could happen and it did. They told me I needed to be on bed rest for 24 hours and I did what they said, but still got a gnarly headache. The kind where you don't know if your head feels better if your eyes are open or closed. I just slept and my head felt better in the morning. The bad news is that my right leg feels worse than it did before the procedure meaning that I have less feeling, but feel a lot of pressure in both my right leg/hip and also my low back. I am very uncomfortable and hurting very much. I just got off the phone with my Dr. and he wants me to come back into the ER and be admitted. They want to do an MRI I think to see if it's a hemotoma or a blod clot. If it is they'll have to have surgery to take it out. If not then it looks like they'll have to do another spinal tap and take some of the fluid out of my spinal column. Friday they put some in, but now they think that maybe if they take some out that the pressure should go away. I swear it better because they are running out of options. Not only do I have enormous pain afterward, but they also do not believe that I have a bone fragment pinching a nerve anymore. They didn't see one after the contrasted MRI. They think now that I have a cyst, which can also be taken out with surgery. There are so many unknowns right now that I wasn't planning on. I thought they had figured it out and I am so goddamn physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. I need them to find the problem and fix it. Okay, well I need to go to the ER but I'll write more when I can. tara Never Give Up! www.tarallanesroadtorecovery.com |
