I recently did several days of PR for the ASA contest in Minneapolis. This was quite a busy few days, running all over the city doing TV, radio and newspaper interviews. Most turned out just fine, though the funnest day was filming for the actual TV portion of the event. They wanted me to bring them to spots I rode as a kid, places that helped shape the rider I've become.
As it turns out, most of those spots are long gone, so I brought them to a parking lot I spent hours a day riding flatland in, and they interviewed the guys I grew up with to get some different perspectives on myself. I must admit, it was more than a little nostalgic and a little bizarre; when I was in high school I never imagined that parking lot would be on TV and my friends would be talking about me in it. Brought back a lot of good memories.
The TV show won't air for awhile- I'm curious to see how it ends up looking, though. Below are some shots from that day, and a little bit my friend Jay did on how to ride a portable foam pit.
