Only Thieves- Greetings From Levy Park T.L.H (Self Released)
A young Tallahasse outfit here, just a trio self releasing their debut batch of rock n roll songs that retains a consistent energy from beginning to end. A quick EP of gritty, dirty rock n roll, these guys do a great job of fuzzing out the guitars and putting the riffs in all the right places.
Though the cover art maybe a Springsteen paraody, I actually hear very few similarities to The Boss. With their power pop hooks, frantic guitars and pounding drums I actually detect more parallels to a more rockin Weezer during the blue album period.
It's great to see such DIY initiative and rather than sit around waiting for someone to put their music out Only Thieves take matters into their own hands. I have a feeling these guys are very well received in their part of the country and this EP is sure to bring them more attention wherever it's heard.
