Music for the engaged listener, The Reptilian build an intricate foundation off math rock, hardcore and indie pop. There is a lot going on here, resulting in the sort of disc that will require repeated listens to fully absorb. Complicated yet easily accessible, Boys' Life is a textured, dynamic listen.
Though 'Boy's Life' contains plenty of screamy, dischordant, jagged songwriting, the music finds itself still very much melodic with catchy bass lines, danceable melodies and noodling guitar parts.
Excellent disc, ideal for those who enjoy the harder more difficult side of melody and just can't keep interested in the same 3 chords....
