I went to Kevins record breaking high air event in NYC Central Park yesterday. It was so much fun! It was like a BMX reunion/party. It was really good to see everybody. Talib Kweli performed on the ramp right before Kevin started up. Kevin 'warmed up' with 15' controlled airs. Then, he went up to the high roll in and it got crazy! Once you start hitting mid 20' airs control starts to go out the window. It was nuts. He crashed a few times and landings were 'seat of the pants' style! On one crash he lost his bike and it shot into the crowd where I was standing. It hit his wife and Dr. Chao's girlfriend who had to get stitches. Thats how crazy it was getting!!! David Letterman was in attendance to cheer Kevin on. Kevin tied Mats record of 26.5 feet and then hit a 27 foot air!!! Sick! It was on edge style! We then all headed to the Red Bull after party to get loose and celebrate a great day.
