Man, there aren't any other comps like the Soul Bowl! The ramp is right on the beach with crazy action all around. There are wooden side walks in the sand connecting all of the sponsors and companies tents.
This year, for the first time ever anywhere, they had a legends jam. I was psyched because I got to see a few of the guys ride that I looked up to when I was a kid. It was great!!! Blyther, Dominguez, Voelker, Murray, Fiola and Wilkerson were all there. I had a blast.
I took a good slam in practice right before finals started so I sat it out and watched instead. It was good to see Joe Rich killin the bowl. I grew up riding vert with him, so it's always a treat to see him ride. Huntington Beach is a cool place. The night after finals we went out to some bars and just happened to run into Dave Dilleward and Ryan Jordan. Good stuff! After talks of late night GO211.com pull up contests at the Army Strong tent and too many shots of tequila, I called it a night. I am home for a day and leave for the Tony Hawk Huck Jam.
