Man, what a fun trip! Me, Jorge Jovel and Andy Buckworth all met up at Jamie Bestwick's new house. It's amazing-all custom styling from the ground up! Every feature....its sick! Anyway, we all left from his place and never stopped laughing once! When we grew tired we turned on the Jason Ellis show on Sirius radio and kept laughing. I havent had a road trip that fun in a looong time!
LG had their famous 14' 2'' half pipe there with no b.s. extensions, elbows or other crap. Just a straight killer ramp! On the other side of the arena was a roll in to 2 big gap jumps and a 9' quarter pipe. This was my first try at riding again since my back screwed up. I was pretty nervous, but it was nice to get my feet wet again. Bestwick was pure art riding that thing!- so aw inspiring! There was lots of whips and spins going on over on the jump 1/4 side. Koji finally got his balls up and was the first one to blast the 1/4 and jump the last jump backwards! It was sick! The edge of the jump lip was just a straight layer-no 2x4 or anything to help your wheel out if you hung a little. I personally saw Koji collect $100 from Jay Eggelston on that manuver and supposedly had $200 more coming from other people. Darden cashed in on that steez when he 360'd it backwards in the finals knocking spinner oout of first. We piled back in Jaime's truck and laughed our asses back all the way to State College!
