PRO RIDERS will be competing for a PRIZE PURSE valued at over $8000.00.
We are grateful to the organizations and individuals who will be supporting our AMATEUR RIDERS with tremendous prizes. As prizes are confirmed and received, they will be posted here. Please patronize the organizations supporting our sport:
-SONY DVD505 HANDYCAM together with 10 hours of DVD-RW’s, all valued at over $1000, from G & G Electronics, 4371 Kingston Road in West Hill. The owners, Gary and Cheryl Tsuyuki, are very supportive of youth sporting endeavours in many areas. Their son, Dave, is one of the best wakeboarders in Canada. Their daughter, Katie, will be competing at the Olympics in 2010 in snowboarding. They sponsors numerous dragonboating teams across Toronto, including one during the summer season for children from the Scarborough Boys’ and Girls’ Club. Huge thanks to them for their involvement in our sport.
-TOOL KIT, BIKE FLIGHT BAG AND PARTS PRIZE PACK, all valued at over $300, from MOUNTAIN EQUIPMENT CO-OP, 400 King Street West (near Spadina) in Toronto. MEC's primary belief? "Count on us to act with integrity. We're driven by passion, not profit. We continue to look for ways to protect our wild spaces and reduce the ecological footprint of our business". The sport of BMX certainly fulfills their purpose of enhancing the enjoyment of self-propelled recreation. We are very pleased to have MEC not only supporting the JAM this year with great prizes, but also helping with our year-round public course site
-TORONTO ARGONAUTS TEAM PRIZE PACK includes a backpack, Argo’s apparel, 2 red zone (ie. field level) tickets to any 2008 home game and a football signed by quarterback #17, Michael Bishop, valued at over $300 from the Toronto Argonauts Charitable Foundation, Stop The Violence. The Argo’s Foundation had their first introduction to the world of Freestyle BMX when they sponsored a competition as part of the Grey Cup Festival in Toronto at the end of November, 2007. Most of the course being used for torontoBMXjam08 was tested at this event; the project of applying graffiti to the ramps was a youth initiative as part of their grassroots programmes. We appreciate their support of art and BMX throughout the city.
-SESHIN BIKES PRIZE PACK includes some of the latest products and apparel from SESHIN BIKES. Seshin Bike Company began in 2001 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. "The company was started with two goals: hooking up plenty of unknown riders, and to sell 100% direct.
Selling direct gives us an advantage to keep our prices down, which in turn helps the average bmxer because the lower our prices go, the lower the average price of bmx goods will go. And it has over the years. More info can be found at seshinbikes.com" . Thanks to Seshin Bikes for their generously supporting this years comp.
