So get this, I never went to the Prom, it was one of those things that just never happened for me, maybe I was too cool, maybe I was too lame but it was just not a part of my teen set up. Pretty crazy since half of my favorite movies include some sort of prom scene...pretty in pink, sixteen candles, carrie...you get the idea, actually maybe carrie is the reason I never ventured out on prom night, just like I won't venture into the water because of Jaws....anyway, I digress. So being out of my teen years I thought proms would be one of those things I missed out on in life, but this was not the case thanks to the local Bar in aspen throwing an 80's prom party with a 80's coverband to boot.
Shelia really is the really Molly Ringwald, not only did she make her own 1987 Prom dress but she can actually dance like 80's people are supposed to.
My amazing friend Shelia, who actually went to the Prom in the 80's miraculously pulled together some pretty sweet Prom gear last minute, poofy skirts, lace gloves and the piece de resistance her actual Prom dress from 1987. Folks, let me tell you Shelia is no ordinary gal, she's a fashion designer and all around crafty broad and her home made Prom dress was nothing less than tinkerbell on acid with a smattering of 80's poof. But the best part is, I got to wear it.

If I had a prom date he would probably be just a dorky as this dude, pretty sweet duo.
This prom king has a lot of miami vice/aspen cheese going and I'm pretty sure the boys in my highschool didn't have that much chest hair, must be the hormones in the milk.
The real queen wears a fanny pack.
Thank God the 80's are over and we can enjoy them in small doses......xoxox t
