New Zealand Locals
I woke up this morning at 2:11 am, if you can call 2am morning and yes ever since this little website has come into my life 211 follows me everywhere, I am constantly staying in room 211, sitting in row 11, all items purchased end in 2.11 and now suddenly when I wake up with jet lag after flying 211 hours from New Zealand to Oregon in the upright and locked position the clock reads 2:11, but really the only thing that shocked me at that hour was how a Miley Cyrus song was stuck in my head something about "......oh she's just being Miley" again and again and again. How? You my ask did a Miley Cyrus song get stuck in my head, well you see New Zealand is a land of sheep and flat whites, beautiful mountains and lush sounds, it is also the land of slower than slow speed internet and home of radio stations and MTV-esue channels that play a total of four, count them four songs/music videos. So, inadvertently in my journey around the south island with my nieces I have come to know every word to the Ting Tings "That's not my name"(not that hard to do, the title spells out 99% of the lyrics) and Miley Cyrus's "I suck suck suck"(not the actual title but you get the idea) and two other songs by rap dudes singing into the camera in track suits and covered in blingy things.

Anyway, I am home after another amazing adventure to New Zealand and other than not bringing and ipod connector the trip was awesome, as to be expected from one of my most favorite locales. The New Zealand Open went off in classic contest style ie; white out, portions of fog, snow, rain, wind and then clearing to beautiful sunshine after the finals. The event and Snow Park brought out a smaller than average collection of the usual winter in the summertime suspects. Kelly Clark and the British Crew have set up summer homes in Wanaka and the international under-age in the rest of the world but of-age in NZ caused the usual amount of trouble so nothing too ground breaking happened, oh except the Chinese shredders got really good all of a sudden and Jaime Anderson won both slope and pipe, not bad considering she is afraid to sharpen her edges. And one of my amazing four nieces Madeline and her friend Charlotte accompanied me on a high speed journey through the Southlands; over mountains, through valleys, across lakes and into Fijordlands. Such an awesome trip and keep in mind that the whole journey was made whilst listening to either static, silence, the sound of pissing rain or one of the afore mentioned songs, we only ran out of gas once and received one speeding ticket but that was on the way to the airport so it doesn't really count and seeing as how it is a sin not to rally the rental car I think I should get bonus points for getting busted. Bonus points that cost $120 Kiwi dollars, at any rate the whole trip was pretty epic, here are a few of the 900 photos we snapped.

Does New Zealand count as a land down under and if so does anything below the equator count too or is it limited only to Australia because Men at Work happened to be from there? Bluff, NZ is the southern most town in NZ and pretty effing far from everywhere.
