Life Rolls On
The Life Rolls on Expression Session presented by Disaboom
Founded in 1999 by surfer Jesse Billauer, Life Rolls On Foundation (LRO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people affected by spinal cord injury (SCI). Utilizing action sports as a platform to push the bounds of possibility after SCI, Life Rolls On produces quality of life programming, raises awareness about spinal cord injury and funds research to find a cure. With a network of more than 70,000 supporters worldwide, LRO is one of the fastest growing, contemporary charitable organizations in the country and has been featured in national print, television and radio, including Good Morning America, Dateline NBC, People magazine, KROQ and others. In 2007, the organization received its first EMMY® nomination for Best National Public Service Announcement.
They Will Surf Again (TWSA) Expression Session presented by Disaboom is Life Rolls On Foundation’s signature quality-of-life program that empowers paraplegics and quadriplegics to experience the freedom of surfing a wave with the assistance of adaptive surfboards and able-bodied volunteers. With humble beginnings in 2004, as a single-event with only a handful of surfers and volunteers, TWSA has grown into an annual program that hosts nine events in five states and has welcomed more than 1,000 participants from as far as Canada, Texas and New York. Since 2002, TWSA has been a featured exhibition at the US Open of Surfing. For more information about Life Rolls On Foundation and They Will Surf Again, visit www.liferollson.org/twsa.
